For students facing special situations which require
them to be out of school temporarily, Genesis contracts with local
schools to provide in-home education services. Established primarily
as a short-term academic program for students with severe physical
challenges, serious illness, or behavioral problems, our homebound
program provides 3 to 6 hours of weekly academic instruction in the
child's home. Most homebound students transition back into full-time
school settings within 3 months, and do not fall behind academically.
Homebound Educational Services provides a 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio
in the student's home or other approved location. Our service is bolstered
by the skills and experience of over fifty contracted teachers who
are all Tennessee Certified in a variety of academic levels and subjects
(Kindergarten through 12th grade). Genesis has the resources to meet
most any need of most any student. Over twenty-five of our homebound
teachers hold Masters degrees, and an additional three have earned
Doctorate degrees. So whether the student needs to study core subjects
such as Math, Science, English or Social Studies, or specialty areas
such as Foreign Languages.......
Genesis Homebound is prepared to meet a diverse cross-section of student
needs.
All Genesis students receive services that are custom-designed to
meet their specific needs on every level. Education Plans are carefully
developed and reviewed regularly with our students and their families.
We want every one of our children to have a positive and adaptive
learning experience. It is our hope that each child we touch will
demonstrate significant personal growth and improvement. Genesis students
are generally referred by the county public school systems within
Middle Tennessee.

socially, and emotionally. We also try to incorporate specific school
and parental requests when making a teacher assignment.
Because of the individualized attention that comes with
the 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio, we find that many of our students
do very well while on homebound. We have received many accolades from
the schools we serve, as well as countless success stories from parents
and students alike.
