Genesis Academy is a private school for
special needs youth. We have been part of the Nashville education
community for over 20 years. Genesis offers special education services for Kindergarten
through 12th grade children. Typically, our unique students have been
identified with emotional disorders, learning disabilities, mental retardation,
dual-diagnosis and/or developmental delays.
As an approved school by the Tennessee Department of Education students
may earn high school credits and may be awarded an academic or special
education diploma at graduation. Here, children and adolescents are
given the chance to reach their full potential not only as students,
but also as total individuals. Our certified and caring staff provide

Genesis Academy focuses on the emotional and behavioral needs of our
young people. A wide variety of counseling and therapy is made available
to each child and their family, with individual, peer and family meetings
scheduled regularly with our Social Workers. Parent training is also
available as a means of problem prevention and intervention. Behavior
management includes a systematic structure of goals, point systems and
individual contracting. Emphasis is placed on learning new, positive
methods of problem solving and taking responsibility for actions.
